Terms of Service

1. The service

TabNorth is a Chrome extension that displays and reorders your browser tabs, saves tab groups to the cloud, and suggests tab groupings using AI ("the Service"). By installing or using TabNorth you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

Core features work without an account. Saving groups to the cloud and AI organizing require signing in with a Google account. You're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

3. Free plan

The free plan includes all local features without limit, up to 10 active saved groups in the cloud, and a fixed number of AI organize requests. We may adjust free-plan limits; if we reduce them, existing saved data is never deleted — you just can't add past the new limit.

4. Pro subscriptions

• Billing. Pro is a paid subscription (monthly or yearly), processed by Stripe. The exact price and terms are shown at checkout before you confirm.
• Trial. First-time subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged. The trial applies once per account.
• Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal inside the extension; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable for partial periods.
• Lapse. If a subscription ends, your account returns to free-plan limits. Saved groups beyond the free cap remain stored and readable, but you can't add new ones past the cap.

5. Acceptable use

Don't abuse the Service. In particular, don't:

• attempt to bypass rate limits, usage caps, or plan restrictions;
• use the AI endpoint for anything other than organizing your own tabs through the extension;
• probe, disrupt, or overload our infrastructure or other users' data;
• use the Service in violation of applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Your content

The tab titles, URLs, and group names you save remain yours. You grant us the limited right to store and process them solely to operate the Service, as described in the privacy policy. Delete your account and that right ends with the data.

7. AI output

Group suggestions are generated by an AI model and may occasionally be wrong or odd. Suggestions are never applied without your action, and every change can be undone. The Service doesn't warrant that AI output is accurate or fit for any particular purpose.

8. Intellectual property

TabNorth, its code, design, and branding are our property. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond using the Service.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on Google (sign-in), our hosting and AI-inference providers, and Stripe (payments). Their availability is outside our control, and their own terms govern your relationship with them.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that saved data will never be lost — keep copies of anything critical.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

12. Termination

You can stop using TabNorth and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your access to it for violation of these terms, with notice where practical.

13. Changes

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
